Feeding of broilers
Broilers, unlike other kinds of poultry, have high intensity of growth. Therefore, from the first days of life they need complete feed, balanced for all nutrients according to the recommendations considering the particular cross.
Feeding broilers in small farm conditions is divided into three periods: starter (1-21 day), grower (22-35 days) and finish (35 days and over). For feeding chicks in the first 4 days of life it is necessary to use feed consisting of easily-digestible ingredients.
Day-old chicks should be fed immediately after placing them into the house, so food and fresh water (temperature 20-22 degrees) is prepared in advance. If chickens are kept in cells in the first three days of feeding it is recommended to feed them from a sheet of paper, and if they are kept on the floor – from flute feeders and trays, with a gradual transition to the feeder lines.
The criteria for the correct feeding of broilers are their intensity of growth, good development of the skeleton, the lack of leg weakness and perosis, their behavior, feathering. Weight gain of broilers depends mainly on protein. The protein sources are feeds of animal and vegetable origin, and additionally introduced balanced synthetic essential amino acids.
The metabolism of poultry, consuming diets perfectly by balanced protein and amino acids is less intense: the chicks do not need to expend extra energy on nitrogen excretion from the body and thus the body temperature drops, and the useful energy is spent productively. It is necessary to keep the recommended energy-protein ratio, vitamin and mineral composition.
In the start period it is biologically and economically profitable to use feed in grit (1.0-2.5 mm) in the finishing period - in pellets (3.0-3.5 mm). The process of consumption of feed depends on the physiological state of a broiler, and is closely linked with the technology of feeding and reliability of means of distribution, as well as the creation of the front of feeders and periodic adjustment of their height.
The daily feed rate is given at regular intervals in order to minimize product loss and to stimulate the palatability. Veterinary-sanitary conditions for infectious and parasitic diseases of poultry, leading to inflammation of the intestinal mucosa, malabsorption of nutrients, reduced weight gain and increased feed conversion, are extremely important.

All product falls under the system of long-term exposure to the heat in the steaming mode, providing a high quality of pellet and hygienically cleanness. Due to exposure to a certain temperature and moisture by steaming and pressing nutritional value improves because of dextrinization of starch and partial denaturation of proteins, that facilitates their digestibility. As a result, the loss of vitamins during thermal treatment (as it always exists) is minimal, the pellet is more nutritious and firm, feed wastage is reduced.
