The peculiarities of pigs in this period are the intensive development of bone and muscle tissue, digestive organs, active metabolism and energy. There are two periods of feeding growing pigs:
  • The first - right after weaning and until gaining body weight of 15-20 kg;

Rearing pigs grow very rapidly and should provide 500-600 g of average daily gain. By 11 weeks their weight reaches 30-35 kg. While feeding pigs in this period it is necessary to pay attention on the biological value of protein. The concentration of lysine in the dry matter must be at least 1.0-1.2%, methionine + cystine - 0,54-0,66%, tryptophan - 0,2-0,23%. The right balance between the essential amino acids for the growth rate must be ensured. The optimum fiber content must not exceed 5% in this period.

Mineral nutrition plays an important role in the development and strengthening of the musculoskeletal system of growing pigs.

The main protein components in the diet of pigs are primarily meals, cakes, partially - fish flour of good quality, yeasts.
